Dr. Lígia Maia

GENERAL DENTIST (OWNER)

Dr. Lígia Maia was born and raised in a small interior town in Brazil. As a child, she grew up surrounded by a large passionate family making it easy for her to develop a great sense of love and care for all of those around her. One of her biggest influences was her grandfather, who was also a dental practitioner but in an era before there was formal dental education in Brazil. Choosing dentistry as a career was a natural and easy decision. Dr. Lígia graduated from one of the most competitive schools in her province and started working in private practice immediately upon graduation. Lígia, as she likes to be called, met her husband in her hometown and built a loving family with three children, all of whom she is very proud.

Dr. Lígia joins the Logan Creek Dental team after 15 years of running her own busy and well-established private practice in Brazil. She passed the Canadian National Dental Examination Board certification with ease and upon completion was invited to teach other international dental students at one of the busiest courses in Metro Vancouver. Dr. Maia enjoys the fact that she can combine her passions of dentistry and helping others. Her areas of interest are preventive care, restorative dentistry, and dental implants. Lígia likes to spend her time off in the company of her family and her dog, Kiwi. Dr. Maia is thrilled to be a part of Logan Creek Dental, where she can use her experience to provide quality work with a patient-centered approach.
